REMINDER! The most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to wash your hands. During the SARS epidemic (also caused by a coronavirus), hand-washing reduced the risk of transmission by 30 to 50%.
Here's how to effectively wash your hands:
- Wet your hands with clean running water and lather them with soap (don't miss: backs of hands, between fingers, and under nails)
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds
- Finally, rinse your hands well with clean, running water and then dry them with a clean towel or let them air dry
No Water? Use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
