According to the CDC, one of the best ways to help slow the spread of COVID-19 is by wearing face coverings in public. But masks are not the most comfortable accessory, with ear chafing and claustrophobia as some of the main complaints. Below are tips to help:
- Button hat/headband or ear guard: Many masks bother people's ears. Instead attach buttons to a headband or hat and use it hold your mask on. You can also use an S clip (or paperclip!) to attach the straps together behind your head.
- Opt for 100% cotton: polyester isn't breathable, choose a fabric like cotton to help face masks more breathable.
- Moisturize: If your skin is sensitive when wearing a mask, try moisturizing before to help.
