Nearly 13,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year, but the disease is preventable with vaccinations and appropriate screening (Pap and HPV tests).

Cervical cancer is caused by sexually acquired infection with certain types of HPV. In the U.S., more than 79 million people have the HPV virus.
